According to CDC, the approximate cost for administering the National DPP lifestyle change program is $500 per person, but this amount can vary. This section provides information on components of program costs as well as common reimbursement models.

The Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) is the percentage of an insurer’s premium dollars that is spent on medical care and quality improvement activities. It is anticipated that the National DPP lifestyle change program can be accounted for in the medical care and quality improvement component of the ratio.
